About Roanoke Cement Company
Roanoke Cement Company (RCC) has been manufacturing cement in Botetourt County since 1951. Many of our employees and customers live and work right here in the county, and we’re committed to being good neighbors.
We remain actively involved in the community through a number of initiatives. Our onsite emergency response team assists Botetourt Fire & EMS in helping injured hikers along the Appalachian and Andy Layne Trail, while also providing trail access to first responders. We also provide water from our reservoirs to the county fire department to utilize in their trucks and helicopters, including to fight a recent 30-acre brush fire in Botetourt County.
We’re committed to educational initiatives in the community. We support the continuing education of local high school students through our sponsorship of the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce’s annual scholarship program. And from 2016 to 2020, we partnered with federal, state and local government agencies and nonprofits to host an onsite “Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience,” where every 6th-grade student in Botetourt County learned about how we work with community partners to preserve precious water sources like Catawba Creek.
Whether it’s supporting public safety, fostering educational opportunities, or simply strolling through town, RCC and our employees are proud to live, work and serve in Botetourt County and the Roanoke region.
